Pain is normal and necessary. But its definitely not something that you have to live with every day.
When you damage tissues & bones, pain is your bodies way of cleverly communicating with you that something needs immediate attention. In response you'll usually stop what you're doing, you'll rest the area thus allowing healing to begin.
Most tissue damage heals by about 6 weeks (think a strain/tear whilst training or on the field), with more severe injuries (e.g. broken bone) taking 3 to 6 months.
But, why might you feel pain long after an injury has healed? & why might this pain come and go?
Pain is a complex creature, heavily influenced by our environment. New research shows that why you continue to experience pain after tissues have healed is due to the body laying new neural (nerve) pathways that don't switch off after healing and might even become overly sensitive as time goes by.
It is important to note that even when an X-ray shows changes, this is not an indicator that you will experience pain.
The good news is, that it is possible to retrain the nervous system & eliminate the pain you are feeling, and research supports methods that use a light touch and create a safe environment.
So, how do I help you let go of your pain?
I work with you to eliminate your pain using Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST).
BCST is a powerful, direct, and respectful connection with the body’s natural tendency to seek health; this happens primarily via the nervous system. BCST is known to be effective for eliminating pain & stiffness, and improving a number of specific conditions, as well as improving overall health, wellbeing, and body awareness.
BCST will allow you to let go of pain that is no longer serving you, allow you to pursue what you are most passionate about at the highest level, and feel more present whilst doing so.
Are you ready to let go?
